2005 Visual Communications Film Festival!

If you live in Southern California, and you have NOT gone to the 2005 Visual Communication Film Festival... then I really do not know what to say to ya...

please go to www.vconline.org

Openin nite was awesome! Joan Chen from Saving Face, Last Emperor was there.

SpeakAsian Americans highly recommends the following films:

RICE RHAPSODY: a mother with 2 gay sons, desperately tries to save the third son from becomin the rainbow squad...so can this family be individuals and connected at the same time?

Ethan Mao: Directed by Quentin Lee. (go Bears!) Ethan gets kicked out for being gay. Evil step mother. obsessive compulsive father. and a break-in. Thriller. Dark comedy. Pure E. ;-)

Once Were Warriors: Cant believe this film has been out for almost 10 years. Beautifully shot and raw! Straight from New Zeland, Once Were Warriors deals with soul searching, domestic abuse & violence, and cultural identity. AWESOME film for something that is in your face.

VC Film Fest 2005 closes on Thursday, May 5th, 2005 at the Aratani/Japan America Theatre. 7pm
