Assemblymember Carol Liu is seeking Fall interns who have good communication skills, are self-starters and team players, have a positive, upbeat attitude, and a desire to serve. The internship positions are available at her district office, in Pasadena.
Job Description:
Internship responsibilities will vary based on experience, time commitment, and interests. We are looking for people who work well with others and have good writing, phone, and oral communication skills. We work closely with other agencies; you will liaison with them, state and local agencies, and constituents.
You will also research legislation, policy, and budget issues, plan legislative events, and assist in the preparation of district outreach projects. Other important duties include: organizing newspaper clippings; preparing certificates, and responding to constituent correspondence.
Work Commitment and Hours:
The internship requires a minimum commitment of three months, with 3 days work per week, Monday through Friday, and some weekend and evening events. We are flexible concerning the number of hours per day and week. We want to accommodate your schedule, as well as meet the needs of our office.
